Crew Member Dead After Hercules Star Attack
The missing crew member from the Hercules Star tanker attack on September 9 has been found dead, according to Peninsula Petroleum. This is the second confirmed fatality from the incident, which occurred while the vessel was anchored off the UAE. The company expressed deep regret and confirmed that the family of the deceased has been informed, with ongoing support and condolences being offered.
An earlier statement confirmed that a seafarer was killed when the tanker was struck by an unknown projectile. Peninsula Petroleum reiterated its commitment to supporting the affected families and the surviving crew members.

All surviving crew members from the Hercules Star have been repatriated. This is the second attack on the tanker during the US-Iran conflict. The first incident occurred on March 1, causing a fire onboard but no injuries to the crew. That earlier attack took place 17 nautical miles northwest of Mina Saqr, UAE.
In a related development, the UKMTO reported an incident in the Strait of Hormuz involving the Togo-flagged tanker Trend. The vessel caught fire while anchored 2.6 nautical miles northeast of Ras Makhbuq, 16 nautical miles northeast of Khasab, Oman. The IRGC navy claimed the vessel caught fire. The UKMTO reported no injuries to the crew or environmental impact.
